These events are open to individuals supported by Shine, their families, and members of the broader community, and are intentionally structured to encourage participation, connection, and positive experiences. Community Matters.

In addition to events, Shine supports community partnerships by opening its facilities for use by local organizations and teams. For example, Shine has allowed sports teams such as the Appalachian Archers to use its facilities, supporting local youth athletics and community programming.

Through events, partnerships, and shared spaces, Shine works to be an active and positive presence in the communities it serves. Community involvement is approached with the same intentionality and care as service delivery, with attention to safety, organization, and inclusivity.

Community support plays an important role in expanding opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. While core services are authorized and structured, community involvement helps enhance experiences, build relationships, and create opportunities that go beyond basic support.
